Bruce put me in touch with Scotty to help design the new album cover and tour merch for What's Going On.

Scotty shot me a text asking for a design that reflected "what's going on" in a comic book/pop art style. Using few colors, having a woman's face looking shocked, and with "What's Going On" in an exclamation bubble.

The design I came up with has a close-up crop of the face, which I felt plays to the surreal vibe he wanted. She's reacting to something, but "what's going on?!" I also gave it a very subtle halftone distressing to lend to the vintage comic vibe.
